Abstract

The research aims to identify the reality of the use of digital technology in educational institutions, in particular from the point of view of faculty members at the College of Administration and Economics/ University of Baghdad.  The importance of the study is highlighted by researching aspects of the use of digital technology and its contribution to the education. The problem of this study was represented by the main question, what is the reality of the use of digital technology in the field of education in the college under study?. To achieve the objectives of this study, many indicators were monitored, and a checklist was designed as a tool for conducting current study.  In addition, interviews were conducted for the purpose of determining the gap, and the study adopted the descriptive analytical method in describing current study variables. In order to diagnose the reality of the use of digital technology at the College of Administration and Economics, the researchers adopted some statistical methods, including determining the weighted arithmetic mean and percentage, as well as determining the size of the gap and explaining its strengths and weaknesses. The most prominent results have revealed that there is a gap between reality and ambition by diagnosing the reality of the use of digital technology. It's also showed that the various faculty members wish to apply modern technology in the field of education. They have ability to improve the quality of education if they are supported. The recommendations indicated, that its need to develop a strategic plan to implement digital technology in various areas of life, especially in the field of education, especially since education builds future generations.
